I read something the other day that sparked my brain.
On my social media feed I scrolled past a picture of store-bought loaf cake and some other sugary treat with a caption reading "diet of my two year old."
•What are you teaching your family to eat?
•Are you encouraging a healthy relationship with food?
I am no jack-of-all-trades "mom of the year" by any stretch but I do actively try to set a good example for Carter through the food he eats AND almost more importantly the food we eat too.
Some days its eggs and broccoli and apples other days its mac and cheese and animal crackers. Its balance. Its about teaching Carter that its GOOD to have mostly healthy foods with some "fun" treats sprinkled in.
Weve all heard it "kids are like sponges." Well lets let them soak up things like learning what a balanced plate looks like getting them involved in cooking/measuring for recipes choosing foods that help them feel good...Im sure you can think of more specific examples for your family. Give them something worthwhile to mimick!
